Steven Lim is a Con man

Beware.. Of this unprofessional con man.. Called Steven Lim.. Approaching walk alone guys or gals for $100 in exchange of entering Mediacorp as Actors or Models

If anyone who watch Sinagapore Idol, know who Steven Lim was. He is most well known for his yellow swimming trunks stripper. This is his website http://www.stevenlim.net. By the way his website is not well maintained and in a good mess.

On 18 June 2010, as I was walking out the Bishan Mrt, I saw a man approaching me directly. He asked me who he is. I stared at him in a while and he said that he is Steven Lim. He tried to introduce he is rich, showing me his gold watch and stated that he ever participated in the comedy show call '永不言败' '"Never Say Die" I had heard of this show before and finally know him as Steven Lim.

He said that he is looking for new faces for commercial, acting in the series like crime watch, Drama shows and advertising models. He showed me more about himself that he is Big Boss of 1600 models in Sinagapore and using Mediacorp letter that stated that he had been asked to provide new faces/talents for them. Promise me an assignment that I can have in the Mediacorp in exchange of paying him $100.

Guess what now, do I really have to pay him $100. Asked me now?

The answer is definitely “NO”

Firstly, looking at his dressing, he is really not very professional with his Black shirt, Jeans and hairstyle. Do not have a name card to offer me and if he is that rich, he can employ people to do it for him, instead of showing his face since he claims himself as Big Boss of Singapore Online Models and Talents Agency.

Secondly, why should I pay him $100 as to secure an assignment at Mediacorp? As I know some of my friends being extra acting in Crime Watch, are not even paying. I know one agency at Fortune Centre that take in extra to act in Mediacorp. Although salary is low like $2-$3 per hour, they are not paying when they signed up.

Thirdly, perhaps I already know what his taste like. He is approaching people who are not the Model Height of 1.7m like this. He is approaching people who is shorter than him, young and innocent-walk alone guys or gals in the area.

Fourthly, I know about myself. I am not that spotting, not good in this kind of acting or modelling. He said that I looks like Korean actress with my hair dye. So what? I don’t really need this kind of acting’s rice bowl. I know what I am good at and not good at.

Fifthly, I find him such a nuisance, asking me for $100. This is the first time that I met him in person. What if I give him $100 in exchange of his emptied promises? Thus, I find no regret for not giving him $100.

Sixthly, I do not know whether he had been trying to use "Mediacorp" name a not. I think that Mediacorp should sue him for using it's name to con people as the letter he presented may be faked.

Be careful if Steven Lim really approaches you. He is very shrewd of doing that. He will definitely come out of new ideas to trick you.
